Global 2000 Poll Results on Information Governance and eDiscovery in the Cloud

Beginning in June 2011, eDiscovery Solutions Group (http://www.ediscoverysolutionsgroup.com/), starting running weekly polls asking global 2000 stakeholders about topics relating to moving information governance and eDiscovery to the cloud. With average weekly participating of over 1,500 voters, the results, although not scientific, have been very interesting.



As such, I thought that I would share them with you.

June 26, 2011

45% of the respondents plan to move all eDiscovery to the cloud in 2011.




















July 5, 2011

42% of the respondents believe that eDiscovery should be located in the legal department.


















July 12, 2011

38% of the respondents indicated that they have a working document retention policy in place.



















July 18, 2011

60% of the respondents indicated that they would prefer to pay for eDiscovery under a multi-year monthly payment agreement (i.e. SaaS based pricing)


July 25, 2011

50% of the respondents indicated that they are moving information governance and eDiscovery to the cloud to reduce costs.


August 1, 2011

50% of the respondents indicated that they major benefit of moving information governance and eDiscovery to the cloud was the reduction in costs.


August 8, 2011

100% of the respondents  indicated that the value of proactive information governance was to be able to access real time information and to reduce costs (please note that this was a multi-selection poll).
